In case you lose, damage or destroy your driving licence or it is stolen from you, you must immediately notify any municipal authority with extended powers. List of those (206 in the Czech Republic) is available on the map below. We also recommend notifying the Police of the Czech Republic in case someone steals your driving licence. Municipal authority with extended powers will issue a “Confirmation of notification of lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed driving licence” that will serve as a substitute driving licence. It is valid for 30 days and only in the Czech Republic. What to bring with you? Valid identity card or passport (along with confirmation of ID card, which is issued in case of lost or stolen ID card) Driving licence in case it is damaged You do not need a printed photograph anymore. We will either use your photograph saved in the database of the Ministry of the Interior or you will be photographed on the spot. You can choose from express or standard delivery: Standard delivery CZK 200 Within 20 days of submitting an application Express delivery CZK 700 Within 5 days of submitting an application You can collect the driving licence in person or authorise someone else (based on verified letter of attorney) at the same municipal authority where you applied for a new driving licence. When collecting the new driving licence you must return the old driving licence, if you have it.
