• An International Driving Licence does not entitle the holder to drive motor vehicles in the Czech Republic.
• An applicant for an IDL must be a holder of a Driving Entitlement(s), or of a Driving Licence.
• Applications for the issuance of IDL are processed by the appropriate (based on the applicant’s place of permanent residence) offices of the Driver Registry of the municipal authorities of municipalities with delegated powers, or of town halls of cities in the Czech Republic.
• An application form for the issuance of an IDL must be submitted, in person, at the appropriate office of the municipal authority of a municipality with delegated powers, or of the town hall of a city in the Czech Republic.
• The following documents must be presented for an application for an IDL: a valid DL, identification document (citizen identification card, passport), and one colour or black-and-white ID document-type photograph (35x45 mm).
• If the conditions for the issuance of an IDL are met, the appropriate authority shall issue it immediately, upon the submission of the application form.
• The IDL must be collected, in person, at the appropriate section of the municipal authority of a municipality with delegated powers, or of the town hall of a city in the Czech Republic.
• The processing of the application is, by law, subject to an administrative fee of CZK 50.00, payable in cash.
• The legal process for the processing of an application is regulated by:
Act no. 361/2000 Coll., On Road Traffic and on Changing Certain Acts, as amended, by the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic (1968),  by the Geneva Convention on Road Traffic (1949), and  by Regulation no. 31/2001 Coll., On Driving Licences and the Driver Registry, as amended.
