Bidders can register in a new tender for the road toll on Czech motorways and class I roads. The Ministry of Transport has issued, in accordance with the Government's resolution, issued an invitation to tender for the toll system operator after 2019. The estimated contract price is almost CZK 29 billion excluding VAT for 10 years.
In 2016 more than CZK 78.7 billion could be drawn for transport construction projects. This is stated in the annual report of the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure (SFDI), which the government received today. The Transport resort has been able to benefit more than CZK 13 extra billion for transport projects than what was originally approved in the SFDI budget. This is historically the best result of drawing funding from the transport infrastructure budget.

The new eight-kilometre section has completed the entire modernisation of the North and South Section of the Červenohorské sedlo pass. The I/44 road, which is the key link for tourism in this area, connects the Šumpersko and Jesenicko regions and also provides interregional transport links, i.e. the interconnection of these regions with inland and Poland. This class I road is one situated in the highest altitude of all Czech class I roads and now opens to drivers throughout its length.
On Thursday, June 8, the reconstruction of the 160-year-old Negrelli Viaduct in Prague started. This festive step also commenced the first construction phase of the key connection between the Masarykovo nádraží Railways Station and the Václav Havel Airport. Operation via the viaduct will be quieter thanks to the use of modern technologies and trains be able to go at higher track speeds. The commencement of this important reconstruction, which will take almost three years, was also attended by Deputy Minister of Transport Milan Feranec.
From June 1, drivers have an opportunity to make changes in vehicle register at any office of a municipality with extended competence. Up to now, it has been necessary to come to the department at the place of permanent residence or registered office. About 3,000 people used the new car registration opportunity on the first day.
