Water transport will have a uniform concept for the first time ever in the Czech Republic. The Ministry of Transport presented the Concept of Water Transport document for the period 2016-2023 on Monday at the government meeting. The material details the national strategic document Transport Policy of the Czech Republic for 2014-2020 with prospects until 2050. It defines the prerequisites for further development of water transport and at the same time declares what the state must do in the field of transportation regarding the development of inland routes, safety, sustainable development, the economy and the environment. The government acknowledged the material.
The continuation of the Karlovy Vary D6 motorway and the D35 motorway, connecting Hradec Králové and Olomouc, have the biggest chance regarding the possible start of construction work until the end of this year. Other construction projects such as the completion of the D1 motorway near Přerov, the continuation of the South Bohemian D3, the Hradec Králové D11 motorway or the connection of D56 to D48 and the Frýdek-Místek bypass are likely to start at the beginning and during the next year. This is the result of the current building preparation analyses which the government studied.
Starting on January 1, 2018, the Ministry of Transport will exempt from fees another five motorway sections that constitute city by-passes or through which category I roads pass. Since 1993, Dan Ťok became only the third of the seventeen ministers of transport who were heading the transport field for more than two and three quarters of a year.
After a five-year transitional period, billboard owners face a statutory duty to remove their advertising banners from the protection zone of motorways and category I roads within five business days. Subsequently, ŘSD will start monitoring the places where illegal billboards are located, which now have nothing to do in the motorway and road protection zones.
