Electronic vignettes are available also for foreigners

From January 2021, foreign drivers coming to the Czech Republic can buy new electronic vignette either via e-shop on eDalnice.cz or in 12 self-service kiosks, which are located mainly in border areas. The kiosks communicate in English, German, Polish, Hungarian and Russian. Payment is possible only by card.

“Of course we keep in mind that e-vignettes must be easily accessible not only for Czech but also for foreign drivers. We adjusted the entire system as well as the communication”, explained spokesperson of the e-vignette system Martin Opatrný.

The e-shop offers the purchase in foreign languages. Information about the e-vignette system was provided in advance to foreign organisations, ministries and representative offices. The vignette system changes have been also communicated with national as well as foreign media, which received video instructions in various languages.

All information is continuously published on the e-vignette website www.edalnice.cz, which launched on 1 January 2021 in Czech and other language mutations (English, German, Polish, Hungarian and Russian.

The sale of electronic vignettes for 2021 began

The new electronic vignettes with validity from 1 January 2021 are now available for purchase. The e-vignettes can be bought at edalnice.cz, post offices and petrol stations EuroOil. On the first day (1 December 2020) people bought on the e-shop eDalnice 2,398 e-vignettes in the total amount of CZK 3,541,395. In most of the cases, people purchased a one-year vignette (2,333). The petrol stations EuroOil sold 137 e-vignettes and post offices 281 e-vignettes. In total, 2,861 electronic vignettes were sold on the first day.
