The transport minister Vladimír Kremlík will be happy if the recent head of ŘSD stays in the sector. Plus construction quality also matters a lot. Efficient and effective management and control mechanisms need to be put is place and a general transformation of ŘSD should also be considered," says the transport minister Vladimír Kremlík. The new head Pavol Kováčik should also focus on emergencies, their handling and communication. "Drivers must have enough information in case of accidents or obstacles, so that they can immediately react to the situation. Faster clearing of accident sites needs to be discussed with the regions and the police as well," Vladimír Kremlík adds. In his recent job of Pavol Kováčik was the chairman of the board of the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure SFDI, at the Ministry of Transport he was member of an expert team for the preparation of the PPP D4 project and in the past he was the head of investments at the National Motorways Company and chairman of the board of Utility Structures in Košice, Slovakia. I appreciate his work and the stability of ŘSD and hope he stays working in our sector," the transport minister Vladimír Kremlík adds. There are currently 140 km of motorways under construction as green field investments, another 52 km of the D1 motorway are being modernised and 63 km of new category I roads are under construction.
