We have noticed fraudulent text messages and e-mails referring to contact details of the Ministry of Transport regarding alleged fines from traffic offences. There have also been phone calls allegedly from the Ministry of Transport in which citizens are urged to pay the fine. All this is a scam. Please do not respond to these messages under any circumstances.

Beware of fraudulent messages and phone calls that are allegedly from the ministry
We are experiencing the so-called phishing where users are invited in messages to click on a link in the text that takes them to a fraudulent website that gives the impression of an official portal. If you do click, even by mistake, on such a link, do not enter any sensitive data that could be misused.

The Citizen's Portal has also warned against fraudulent SMS messages and e-mails in recent days. They give the impression that they are a tax refund, a mistake with a tax statement, payment of a debt to be collected, or sending a reward. Always be cautious and never respond to these messages.
