Drivers will no longer have to go to the office in person to get a new or renewed licence or driver's card. Everything can be handled via the Transport Portal and the document can be picked up at a distribution point or in a delivery box. This is made possible by an amendment to several road laws, as passed by senators. Other innovations include the so-called demand-based transport, rules for automated vehicles, the establishment of the Road Inspection (INSID) and the extension of the registration check to two years. The changes are still to be considered by the President of the Czech Republic.
Drivers can check their penalty points balance, collect driving licences and licence plates The transport portal now allows the use of digital powers of attorney. Based on the power of attorney, driver's penalty points account can be checked, data from the driver register read, the vehicle registration certificate or licence plates collected, a whole fleet of vehicles controlled or the vehicle owner changed. Digital submission of the application for a driver's card to the digital tachograph and a driving licence with professional competence is also extended.
30 March, Prague – A group of twenty-six most talented young space enthusiasts from across the Czech Republic finally embarked on their "space" journey after a hard six-month selection process. On 30 March, at the third terminal of Václav Havel Airport Prague, months of preparation for the Zero-G mission, one of the activities of the national programme Czech Journey to Space, turned into a real experience for young Czech cadets. They finally experienced during the weightless flight what only astronauts experience in orbit. This unique parabolic flight, the first of its kind with a Czech student crew, stands not only for the determination and curiosity of the young generation, but also the growing ambitions of the Czech Republic in the field of space research and technology.
Imagine roads that communicate with you. They can tell you where traffic jams are about to start, give you early warning of dangerous situations, share information on speed and traffic density, and even help you respond in time to approaching emergency vehicles. All this is made possible by the revolutionary C-ITS (Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems) technology, which connects vehicles with each other, with the transport infrastructure and with central systems. C-ITS is a key step towards autonomous mobility, but it is already delivering concrete benefits not only for drivers but also for road managers. The technology is already being introduced in Europe and the Czech Republic and its importance in transport will continue to grow in the near future.
Project Zero-G's command crew is now complete. The twenty of the most successful young space enthusiasts, who have undergone thorough testing over the past six months demonstrating the real astronaut selection process, will be accompanied on board the parabolic flight by a five-member command crew. The cadets will be commanded by Czech astronaut-in-training Aleš Svoboda and accompanied by the commanders of the individual parts of the aircraft: Yemi A.D., Jan Spratek, Simon Klinga and Jana Plodková, known from the cult series Kosmo. The Zero-G project not only brings the reality of space exploration closer to future generations, but inspires greater involvement of women in the world of science and technology
Mobile Expert Units will continue to supervise freight transport but in a new format: as the Road Transport Inspection (INSID). This was made possible by an amendment to several road laws, the draft of which was approved by the members of parliament. The amendment also introduces a new form of flexible public transport, called demand-based transport. The draft amendments also envisage rules for autonomous vehicles or the delivery of driving licences to distribution points or boxes.
