A new form of cooperation is emerging between the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic and the British Department for Transport. It will help strengthen mutual coordination and sharing of experience.
The European Space Agency (ESA) will support in the Czech Republic the implementation of 13 Czech scientific and technological experiments that will be part of the upcoming mission of Czech astronaut-in-training Aleš Svoboda to the International Space Station (ISS). These include, among other things, research into the behaviour of the immune system and tumour growth in microgravity, and the world's first project in the field of nanorobotics focused on testing microrobots in space. A detailed presentation of the experiments took place during Czech Space Week, the largest domestic festival of space activities.
In the first three months since the launch of driver's license delivery to delivery boxes, delivery points and Balíkovna locations, more than 21 000 drivers have already taken advantage of this option. The most recent statistics shows that 42 percent of those who applied online did not have to visit the office at all to exchange their expiring document or change data. Accounting for 68% of all applications submitted via the internet, delivery to the delivery box has definitely been the most popular service so far.
The EVxROPA (The End of Motorism in the Czech Republic?) conference took place today in the Valdštejn Palace's Conference Hall. The event was organised by the Vice-Chairman of the Senate Jiří Oberfalzer with the professional cooperation of the Ministry of Transport. Speakers discussed topics relating to current European legislation and the impact on the automotive industry, and also focused on the end of the internal combustion engine era. The conference was attended, among others, by transport minister Martin Kupka and representatives of the automotive industry.

There are 261 000 driving licences to expire this year and need replacement. Users can quickly and easily apply for a new document online using their bank identity via the Transport Portal. The driving licence can be also sent to a pick-up box or the physical Balíkovna distribution point as close to your place of residence as possible. People can now collect their driving licences at more than 10 000 locations across the Czech Republic.
