The president of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman today appointed the new transport minister Vladimír Kremlík at the Prague castle. The priorities minister Kremlík set are acceleration of construction of key transport infrastructure, reduction of preparation time for high-speed rail lines and development of so-called PPP projects in motorway network construction.
The transport minister Dan Ťok officially started the construction of another section of the D3 motorway in section Úsilné – Hodějovice. Over 7 km of motorway will be used as the České Budějovice bypass and keep transit traffic away from the South Bohemian capital, which is something the local residents will highly appreciate. The section Úsilné – Hodějovice connects to section Hodějovice – Třebonín, the construction of which started at the end of March.
Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic together with the Czech Waze community and Israeli Waze company work on the deployment of Waze Beacons in Brno tunnels. The purpose of the beacons is to provide the driver’s location inside a tunnel. This action extends the successful cooperation from May 2018 when Waze Beacons were installed in Jihlava tunnel and introduced for the first time.
