Access for motorway sticker purchase via QR code, an instant check its validity, SMS or e-mail notifications alerting about impending expiry and much more – all in one place. The Transport Portal adds more practical features to further expand our digital services for drivers. We are following up on the changes from the beginning of December, when we added information on the technical inspection, the possibility of online change of owner or access for legal entities.

The Transport Portal now offers an easy way to buy the motorway sticker and check its validity
The Transport Portal is one of the most widespread projects of state administration digitalisation. Following the recent expansion of driver and vehicle options, the Ministry of Transport is introducing another practical innovation. It includes one-stop access to check the validity period of a motorway sticker, setting up an expiry notification or securely purchasing the sticker from an official distributor using a QR code.

"We want the Transport Portal to be a signpost not only for drivers and car owners, where they can find as much information as possible in one place. The information on the motorway sticker is another very practical innovation coming with digitisation. We will also gradually make other functionalities available to ship and aircraft owners and to holders of navigation and pilot licences," says transport minister Martin Kupka.

At the beginning of December, the possibilities for companies to manage their own fleet online were expanded by making the Register of Representations, i.e. the management of powers of attorney, thanks to the Transport Portal. An online service for registering a road vehicle with a new owner has also been added.

There will also soon be the possibility to apply for a Driver Card for the digital tachograph or to apply for a replacement of the driving licence to which professional competence is linked. There will also be an option to pay the administrative fee electronically.

Drivers can currently use the Transport Portal to find out for example the status of their penalty points account, including the possibility of setting up a notification when their status changes, view detailed information about their previous offences and driving bans, and apply for a new licence, download an extract from the Drivers Register or a list of all historically owned vehicles, find out technical information about the vehicle owned, apply for a small vessel navigation licence, apply for a test, find out details of vessels, consult the Air Register and much more.

The Transport Portal has been visited by over 1.5 million people in the two years of its operation. The view functionality in the Drivers Register has been used over 700,000 times for example. More than 210,000 online applications for driving licences have been submitted via the Transport Portal app.

You can find easy-to-read information on the Portal here. The Ministry of Transport will continue to work on its development in 2025 to offer owners and operators an ever better one-stop service.
