The transport minister Vladimír Kremlík supported the construction of high-speed rail lines and said we would sign a joint memorandum on behalf of the Czech Republic. "High-speed rail lines are the priority for me and the Czech Republic. The costs and benefits of a new connection between Warsaw, Katowice, Ostrava, Brno, Bratislava and Budapest will be verified in the feasibility study that will foresee European funds as well," the transport minister Vladimír Kremlík said after the meeting. The feasibility study will be assigned by the Hungarian side and will be based on past and current work in the other three countries. The transport ministers also stated they were against cuts of road infrastructure funding in the next seven-year budget period of the European Union, i.e. for 2021-2027. "We will fight for keeping the funds at least on the current level", the Slovak transport minister Arpád Érsek said. The Slovak minister also requests that European countries follow a joint procedure to accelerate collection of fines – unpaid motorways fees across borders. The EU regulation saying that data can be obtained from foreign car registries will be updated for this purpose. This is currently impossible, so the states are not able to get the essential data about the use of vehicles registered abroad.
