It concerns all tasks affecting the change of data in the Vehicle Registry and in the vehicle documents that are not a registration of the vehicle or a change of owner or operator (e.g. change of vehicle colour, registration of coupling devices, etc.). The application for registration of changes to the data in the Vehicle Registry must be submitted within 10 working days of the occurrence of the event giving rise to the change in the data to be registered. The person authorised to act is generally a natural or legal person registered in the Vehicle Registry as the owner or operator of the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle may also authorise another person in writing. Who to turn to? You can contact any municipal office of a municipality with extended jurisdiction: there are 206 such offices in the Czech Republic and you can search and find them on the map below. What to bring to the office? application for registering a change to the data (in CZ language only) original proof of identity (ID card, passport) original or legally verified copy of the trade licence or extract from the commercial registry (for company vehicles) technical certificate, if awarded registration certificate other documents certifying a change in the data to be registered In addition, if you are requesting a change to your details based on the replacement of a substantial part of the mechanism or vehicle structure, you will need: proof of purchase of this part, the technical inspection report prepared after the replacement of this essential part the decision of the municipal authority of the municipality with extended competence on the roadworthiness approval after the replacement (in case of conversion of the vehicle) It may also happen that the changes to the data relate to a vehicle temporarily removed from the road vehicle register. In this case, you should prepare the technical certificate to mark the entry and an affidavit that no changes have been made to the vehicle's essential parts (body, engine). You can also prepare an application on the Transport Portal before going to the office. The administrative fee is CZK 50 for each change. The entire operation is done without delay (mostly on the spot) and within 30 days in more complex cases.
