Exchange of a driving licence issued by a foreign state (non-EU Member State) for a Czech driving licence01/10/2020 11:00:00|Driving licences Exchange of a driving licence issued by a foreign state (non-EU Member State) for a Czech driving licence Holder of a valid driving licence issued by a foreign state (non-EU Member State) having permanent residence in the Czech Republic or temporary residence for longer than one year must exchange their driving licence for a Czech one. They must submit the application within 3 months of their return to the Czech Republic, if they are Czech citizens, or after the date they received a confirmation of permanent or temporary residence for longer than one year. A standard application for a driving licence is accepted. A driving licence issued by a foreign state will be accepted for an exchange only if it corresponds to the requirements (driving licence template) set in the Conventions on Road Traffic (Vienna 1968, Geneva 1949). Where to go? You can visit any municipal authority with extended powers. List of those (206 in the Czech Republic) is available on the map below. What to bring with you? Valid identity card Valid driving licence issued by a foreign state You do not need a printed photograph. We will either use your photograph saved in the database of the Ministry of the Interior or you will be photographed on the spot. You can choose from express or standard delivery: Standard delivery CZK 200 Within 20 days of submitting an application Express delivery CZK 700 Within 5 days of submitting an application Řidičský průkaz si můžete převzít osobně nebo prostřednictvím zmocněné osoby (na základě ověřené plné moci) u stejného obecního úřadu, kde jste žádost o vydání řidičského průkazu podali.
