Where vignettes are resold by unauthorised vendors, it is the seller's duty to inform the consumer unambiguously about the price of the electronic vignette, the price charged for the service provided and the total price. The buyer must know from the outset not only the total amount but also the value of the individual items that make up the total price. "It is entirely up to the discretion of the buyer whether to purchase an electronic vignette from an official vendor at the price set out by the government regulation or at a higher price from other vendors. However, he should always be informed about the price of the vignette itself, the price of the service and the conditions under which the electronic vignette including the service is offered to him," says Jan Štěpánek, Central Director of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority. Fixed prices are set by a government regulation.
