The same applies to Technical Inspection Stations. During the first quarter, over three million photographs were taken during 563 669 inspections. To increase convenience for drivers when searching the closest station, the ministry published an easy-to-read map of all Emission Measurement Stations, Technical Inspection Stations and Municipal Departments with Extended Powers on its website. "It is no longer be possible for a vehicle to get the record of a successful emission check without actually having to visit the station. If it does not pass the measurement in one station, it cannot easily try its luck in another. The reason is that the measurement protocols include, in addition to photos, times and the check time. On top of this, the measurement logs cannot be overwritten," the Minister of Transport Dan Ťok said. In total, 1 093 emission measurement stations, of which 1 093 are active, are registered in the information system of the Ministry of Transport. During the first quarter since this duty has applied for the emission measurement stations, these stations performed over 560 000 measurements and uploaded 3 178 557 images to the information system of the Ministry of Transport. This is the same information system that Technical Inspection Stations are using. For them this duty started two years earlier – in January 2016. To make the search for the closest Emission Measurement Station and Technical Inspection Station easier for drivers, the ministry prepared on its website an interactive map of all stations in the Czech Republic, including Municipal Departments with Extended Powers, for the case that drivers will need to change something about their vehicle registration.
