Exporting a vehicle from the Czech Republic to another country01/10/2020 02:00:00|Registry of motor vehicles Exporting a vehicle from the Czech Republic and assigning the licence plate for export to another country There are two ways how to register the export of a vehicle from the Czech Republic to EU countries. If exporting a vehicle outside the EU member states, there is only one procedure: Apply with the relevant municipal authority of the municipality with extended competence for a limited-validity licence plate for the export of the vehicle from the Czech Republic. After leaving the Czech Republic, the new owner registers the vehicle abroad (within the European Union) and then the local authorities report to the Czech Republic within 2 months that the vehicle has been registered in another EU country (note: this procedure cannot be applied if the registration does not take place within the European Union). The person authorised to act is generally a natural or legal person registered in the Vehicle Registry as the owner of the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle may also authorise another person in writing. Who to turn to? You can contact any municipal office of a municipality with extended jurisdiction: there are 206 such offices in the Czech Republic and you can search and find them on the map below. What to bring to the office? original proof of identity (ID card, passport) original or certified copy of the trade licence or extract from the commercial register (for company vehicles) vehicle registration certificate technical vehicle certificate if awarded vehicle inspection report (not older than one year) will be verified by the office when processing the application all licence plates issued for the vehicle (you are giving them back) The administrative fee for award of a limited-validity licence plate is CZK 200 for every plate plus CZK 50 for a change in the data registered..
