Almost sixty thousand inhabitants of Frýdek-Místek lived to see begun the launch of the most needed local traffic structure - the bypass of the city and the connection of D56 motorway to D48.
The future railway tunnel for the high-speed railway through the Krušné hory mountains will be designed by Deutsche Bahn, operated in accordance with German regulations. This was agreed in Prague by Czech Minister of Transport Dan Ťok with his Saxon colleague Martin Dulige.
The ministry announced the competition for the construction of the missing 32 kilometres of the D4 motorway between Příbram and Písek through cooperation between the private and the public sector, the so-called PPP project. A private company will then have to operate and maintain the new motorway for 25 years. The construction of the D4 extension will not start sooner than in two years.

The section speed control system has been guarding safety in the narrowed sections on the D1 already for the third year. The first section monitored by cameras this year is the construction site between Velké Meziříčí and Lhotka. The modernised section of the motorway by Ostředek and Šternov will follow, the section between Hořice and Koberovice will be the third location and a motorway section close to Jihlava will be the fourth location. More than one percent of drivers committed an offence last year, but the crushing majority of drivers respect the speed and drive safely.
