After a winter break, workers are back on D1 motorway. Works will end this year

This weekend, the final construction season on D1 has begun. On Friday, warning signs and protective barriers were deployed, and on Saturday 20 February, the modernisation of a section 23 Devět křížů (EXIT 168)–Ostrovačice (EXIT 178) in direction to Brno started. As of Monday, drivers will drive in a 2+2 mode in carriageway in direction to Prague. Works on the other sections will start in the course of March.

A total of CZK 128 billion shall be invested in transport infrastructure in 2021

The government approved the highest budget of the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure ever. A total of CZK 127.5 billion shall be spent on transport infrastructure in 2021. Of this 90.5 billion is from national resources and 22 billion from EU funds. And another 15 billion is from the European Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).

Motorway preparation will be faster, the MPs passed a bill to accelerate infrastructure projects

Called the "line act", this amendment shall accelerate the construction of transport, water and power infrastructure. The bill is now back in the Parliament after the Senate returned it. The "parliament version" of this bill was passed. It shall reduce the preparation time of strategic transportation projects to about two thirds or one half of the current duration which is up to 13 years. The amendment shall simplify the permitting process to ensure that long delays before construction commencement can be avoided. The Ministry of Transport submitted the amendment together with the Ministry for Regional Development and Ministry of Industry and Trade.
