The study on the Danube-Oder-Elbe water channel is now public

The Ministry of Transport published the final wording of the feasibility study on the Danube-Odra-Elbe canal. Preparations of the material for a negotiations for the government are also under way The economic assessment showed that the Danube-Odra branch shall be further investigated, while the Elbe branch is the most expensive one and undermines the effectiveness of the entire canal. The feasibility study evaluates the benefits of an investment amounting to CZK 585 billion.

Transport ministers in Brussels addressed the issue of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in transport

On Friday, 20 September , transport ministers of the EU Member States dealt with reducing greenhouse gas emissions in transport, which is supposed to lead to a climate-neutral European Union. The Czech Republic was represented by Deputy Minister of Transport Tomáš Čoček. Transport is one of the key sectors that can contribute most to reducing greenhouse gases.
